This was actually the third project I did, but the first one to have the subject have their eye's open I believe. I have yet to put the background color on this project. The huge difference probably is that the subject has blush marks, 'cause well why not? People sometimes have a tendency to blush more than others. What I shall write on this project will be "everything around me is beautiful".Next post will be the final!!
I've noticed this after finishing all 5 themed projects, is that the backgrounds have been all pastel colors. This project is nearly complete actually, I just need to add the words, and erase a few things here and there. The previous two projects involve having their eyes closed. This one I wanted to be different and have their eyes open. What I am going to write on this project is "Having freckles is like being your own galaxy". Next post will be the final! Continuing the cartoon-y look, I drew this white haired girl. Another thing to note is that I'm focusing on varying the appearance of each cartoon. This one is sort of related to me, because I've been wanting to dye my hair white. So I wanted to test out a similar skin tone with white hair, which led to this. I think this one is probably my favorite because I like how the colors interact with each other. Well they don't really interact, they just are very soothing to the eye. What I am going to write on this project is "It is not irresponsible to relax and take breaks. It's healthy!". I'm also going to add a flower crown, because flower crowns are cool and I make them This is the start of the 5 themes that are related together. Very simple art style, which I use to use when drawing cartoons. All of my themes I believe will have to do with this same concept - cartoon, some sort of message. This message is "I wish I was a plant". It is that because I really do wish I was a plant. Plants don't have to go to school. I love plants with a passion. Oh, and through out the projects, I also plan on using numerous pastel colors as the background, and have many people with different skin color. Next post will be the final product of this first themed drawing! I am very close to finishing now. I finished shading the skin pretty much, I might touch up a few things if I notice anything. Started shading the hair, eyebrow, and shirt. All three of those are pretty much the same color actually. It's going to be as dark as possible as well. After I am done with shading those three things, I will have a light grey for the The idea to the project is that I draw the same person, with two different expressions. One drawing, will be the happy side. The other one will be a sort of, how to put it.... Dissatisfaction side. Well it's not really. Like here's a scenario kind of. On the outside, you look happy, you're smiling, laughing, expressing happy emotions. Except in reality on the inside, they just want to scream, and cry maybe. It's kind of like having depression. Though back to the art itself. The proportions are off, so off it looks horrid to me. It is the first draft, so it is understandable. Since the first draft is done, I'm going to start working on the final draft next. Redrew the face on the backside. So far I like how it is turning out. My friends said to have clusters of bubbles where I would like to focus on the drawing. I tried focusing more on the face because one, drawing the neck or coat would be the hardest for myself; and two, the main subject is indeed my friend. Next post will be my final draft - colored and everything! |
